Baked Caramel Coffee Donuts
I have a huge weakness for donuts. I love Dunkin Donuts, Krispy Kreme and homemade donuts most of all. I even spent one summer working at Krispy Kreme before I started college. I consumed about a donut every day that summer! It’s a good thing that when I moved to London the first Krispy Kreme hadn’t arrived at Harrod’s yet.
Bacon S’mores
On one of our trips to Florida several years ago the hotel we were staying at had a bonfire pit especially for roasting s’mores. Even though it was 90 degrees outside we spent the night by the fire so I teach Alex about the delights of the s’more. We ended up eaten alive by mosquitoes but the s’mores were worth it.
Bacon Cornbread
I made these cornbread muffins all the way back for Thanksgiving! I never seem to be able to get over my blogging backlog. This is a pure savory muffin with bacon, a little bit of bacon grease and almost no sugar.
Bacon Jam
This is one of my new favorite ways to eat bacon. I don’t know about in America but in the UK they love jam, chutney and relishes. Not American hot dog relish but more like a savory jam. I’ve been to some great restaurants that serve their burgers with homemade relish instead of ketchup.
Bacon Chive Butter
It’s very rare that you’ll see a savory recipe over here. Out of nearly 600 posts there are nine savory recipes. That’s less than 2% of posts. When I do post a savory recipe I make sure it’s pretty special.
Interview Squires Magazine
I’m so excited I did an interview for British baking magazine Squires! It’s a whole 2 page spread as well. Squires is a UK sugar craft shop and experts in baking and cake making. The issue is on sale now for £4.99. I ran to newsagent a picked up a copy already.
Bacon Cookbooks
There is a whole 5 days dedicated to bacon right here this week! I’m kicking things off with reviews for two bacon cookbooks. It’s a specialty cooking topic but it’s absolutely a versatile ingredient and with a little imagination it’s easy to see how two cookbooks have 100 recipes each dedicated only to bacon. Both have taken a novel idea and turned it into substance.
