It’s very rare that you’ll see a savory recipe over here. Out of nearly 600 posts there are nine savory recipes. That’s less than 2% of posts. When I do post a savory recipe I make sure it’s pretty special.
Interview Squires Magazine
I’m so excited I did an interview for British baking magazine Squires! It’s a whole 2 page spread as well. Squires is a UK sugar craft shop and experts in baking and cake making. The issue is on sale now for £4.99. I ran to newsagent a picked up a copy already.
Bacon Cookbooks
There is a whole 5 days dedicated to bacon right here this week! I’m kicking things off with reviews for two bacon cookbooks. It’s a specialty cooking topic but it’s absolutely a versatile ingredient and with a little imagination it’s easy to see how two cookbooks have 100 recipes each dedicated only to bacon. Both have taken a novel idea and turned it into substance.

It’s starting to get a little hot in the kitchen! A Taste for Trouble by Gina Gordon is a steamy new cupcake romance novel. Full of baking innuendos and I’m talking a lot more risque than some soggy bottoms. Liz and Jake make some serious sensual cupcakes together.

I’ve learned to make a lot of things from scratch over the years since staring the blog. Pasta noodles, bread, coffee syrup, ice cream. It’s a bit nauseating to think about how many liters of ice cream I’ve made and consumed in the last year!

I love candy. I know it’s bad for me but it doesn’t stop me sneaking off to Tesco after lunchtime and buying a bag of Haribo cola bottles or occasionally treating myself to a Snickers bar from the vending machine.
Popovers
Whenever I’m watching TV or reading a book and the characters are eating something or talking about food I immediately start craving it! Except after reading The Help, I never wanted to eat a piece of pie again after reading that book. After reading Trouble’s on the Menu I couldn’t stop thinking about Popovers.
