{Book Review} S’mores Gourmet Treats

It’s offically summertime (even if the weather isn’t) so I’m celebrating with 5 days of S’mores treats! First up, a book review of S’mores Gourmet Treats by Lisa Adams. Fourth of July really kicks off the summer season and makes me reminiscent of my youth, eating Popsicles, playing on our slip n’ slide and girl scout camp. I went to camp or day camp nearly every year.

The closest I came to camping since I was an adult was toasting S’mores at the Hyatt a few years ago in Florida at their year round fire pit.It was the first time Alex tried a S’more.

For those that love camping outdoors or  backyard & living room camping S’mores takes the campfire treat to a new level. Chapters include sweet treats, classic tastes, extreme variations, the exotics and holiday favorites. The beginning of the book covers different toasting techniques.

The book is fun in that not all the S’mores use traditional graham crackers for all the recipes. Most of the recipes are very simple and use common items that you can find in the grocery store. If we had a backyard I’d make a campfire and have a S’mores party.
