{Book Review} Lawyer for the Dog

Warning! This book does not contain any cake but it does contain one adorable dog. I’m a sucker for chick lit books and I’m a big animal lover so this novel was a winner from the get go.

Lawyer for the Dog by Lee Robinson is a fun easy read about a lawyer, Sally Baynard, who is appointed as lawyer for miniature schnauzer Sherman, by her ex-husband the judge in another couples bitter divorce. As an experienced attorney she has plenty of practice in custody disputes over children but dogs not so much! It doesn’t hurt that Sherman’s veterinarian is pretty cute.

The book is set in charming Charleston, South Carolina. I loved this book not only because of the dog but most of the story and plot revolves around Sally’s career and the case, her mother and a little bit her ex-husband. The love interest portion and finding a new boyfriend are not the point of the book.

Read this book and I guarantee that Sherman will wiggle his way into your heart! I read the whole book in one afternoon sitting by the pool.
