{Book Review} Back in the day Bakery: Made with Love

cover

I don’t own the first Back in the Day cook book by the Day’s but after reading and baking from their latest offering, Back in the Day: Made with Love, I wish I had made the investment. The new offering goes beyond desserts and includes breakfast pastries, breads, pizzas, and condiments.

Cheryl and Griffith have operated the Back in the Day Bakery in Savannah, Georgia for more than 10 years. Nashville is only 8 hours from Savannah! Maybe one day we’ll make it down there. Expect to find some of the bakery’s most popular recipes, food how to’s and baking tips. There are even a few crafty cake topper tutorials.

Gingersnap Coffee Syrup

The book isn’t out until March but I couldn’t resist making a few Christmas recipes. I made their Gingersnap Coffee Syrup and Eggnog French Toast with great success. I found the recipes easy to follow and the pictures are beautiful. I know a book is good when I pretty much book mark every page!

Eggnog French Toast

I narrowed down my next recipe choice to the Chocolate Chip Cake and Sweet Potato Lemon Bread.
