I’m so excited to hand out candy on Friday. I was so bummed last year when we got only 1 trick or treater. Now that we live in a big neighborhood I’m expecting a lot of kids. I went out this weekend and bought a ton of candy. If they don’t show then more candy for me I suppose

We hit the road for a summer road trip today. My brother is getting married so we’re driving from Connecticut to Pittsburgh to see some of my family and then on to Ohio for the wedding.

I made my first grown up birthday cake! It only took 30 years. Every year on my birthday I make what I feel like. Usually I go for something really crazy but this year I immediately gravitated towards this orange cake.

I had no idea until I moved back to the US that curd was more of a British thing. I took for granted all the different brands and flavors that would be stacked next to the jams and peanut butters. Curd is not something that you’ll find next to the Skippy in Stop & Shop.

Cheese and crackers, peanut butter and jelly, milk and cereal, some things just go together so well that you can’t think of them apart. When you think of chocolate many different things come to mind, fruit, milk, peanut butter even wine but coffee? Chocolate and coffee make an excellent cake combination but I’ve never been to a chocolate and coffee pairing.
