Blood Orange Mocktail

Blood Orange Mocktail

I’m so excited to hand out candy on Friday. I was so bummed last year when we got only 1 trick or treater. Now that we live in a big neighborhood I’m expecting a lot of kids. I went out this weekend and bought a ton of candy. If they don’t show then more candy for me I suppose 🙂

Blood Orange Mocktail

Topped off with a red Twizzler for a straw this is a perfect Halloween mocktail. It’s fun, fruity and fizzy. Not quite a glass of champagne but close. It’s hard to tell from the photo but in person it has a great two tone color. Red on the bottom and orange on the top. The main flavor is orange with a hint of mango.

I couldn’t find any blood orange juice but I did find a small bottle of blood orange concentrate in the healthy aisles at Kroger for $1. I don’t have any wine glasses so I used a mason jar glass which is much bigger. I added an extra dash of mango nectar and topped off the rest of the glass with orange soda.

Blood Orange Mocktail

Yield: 1 mocktail

Blood Orange Mocktail

3 ounces blood orange juice (or concentrate)

1 1/2 ounces mango nectar

2 ounces blood orange soda (I used regular orange soda)

1 ounce grenadine

Twizzler, for garnish

  1. In a wine glass (with ice cubes if desired) pour in the blood orange juice, followed by the mango nectar and orange soda. Pour in the grenadine last and it should sink to the bottom.
