My first Christmas back in the US last year I went a little crazy and over dosed on eggnog. This year I did better and only bought 2 cartons. Eggnog has gained in popularity in the UK but it’s the homemade variety and is often served a little too boozy for my liking.

It’s almost Thanksgiving! Hopefully as you read this I’m on my way to Knoxville for a few days at my parents house. I spent several nights and all weekend getting my desserts ready for the big day. Hopefully they survive the three hour drive from Nashville.

I think these are my favorite pictures I’ve taken recently. The turquoise contrasts brilliantly with the orange colored pie. I love how rustic and homemade the pie ended up turning out.

After reading When in Doubt, Add Butter I wasn’t sure what to bake as my inspired treat. The main character doesn’t mention a favorite dish but does believe the more butter the better.

This is the first recipe that I made from Teeny’s Tour of Pies. I’ve made (or attempted) to make a lot of different pies on this blog the last four years. Most of them have been fruit based or chocolate based. This is the first hybrid pie that I’ve tried.
