The countdown to baby is down to the single digits now! Nine more days if he’s going to show up on time. He could potentially show up on my birthday (Feb 2nd) or even Valentine’s Day if he’s late!

Since I didn’t get much of a chance to make many Christmas treats I decided to get a head start on Valentine’s Day. Target has a pretty good selection of red and pink goodies. I got these napkins, straws and plates for $1-$3 each.

I promise after this very exciting post that I will keep the baby stuff to a minimum. I still plan to keep the main focus on here as baking and the occasional crafting. I can’t wait to tell you all if we’re having a boy or a girl. I actually found out what we were having at 15 weeks and it’s been SO hard to keep it under wraps.

It was my job this year to bring dessert for Thanksgiving. I brought a pumpkin pie but I also brought these Christmas Funfetti Shortbread Cookies. It felt appropriate that as we finished Thanksgiving dinner that we started the Christmas season by eating cookies and decorating my sister’s Christmas tree.

Who loves waking up to warm fresh pastries each morning? I do! Who likes to get out of bed early on a cold winter morning to make said pastries? Not me. My sister came down to visit and I wanted to make something fun for us all to have for breakfast on Sunday morning. Kayla used to live in London with me but I started the blog after she moved back to the US so she hasn’t really had many chances to taste my baking.
