I actually made these over a month ago during the Christmas break and they are amazing. Alex and I both had a hankering for cinnamon rolls but it was already the afternoon and we didn’t want to wait several hours for them to rise.

I made these cupcakes a few weeks ago for a bake off at work. I thought the idea of pumpkin beer cupcake was fun but everyone at work was really weirded out and couldn’t grasp the concept of a piece of bacon on top as a garnish. As a blogger I usually like to pull out the stops and impress everyone. It may have backfired a little this time but by the end of the bake off all of the cupcakes were eaten and I can assure you that they were delicious and not at all “weird”.

I’m not the most organized blogger. I can never seem to get ahead of all the holiday’s. I’m still trying to keep up with my pumpkin (and everything else) backlog and my Pintrest feed is already full of candy canes! There’s also no way the two of us could have eaten multiple Thanksgiving pies. I made this pie to bring to my friends annual Thanksgiving party this weekend. Perfect pie for sharing!

If I made new years resolutions it would definitely be to bake more! These squares are super rich, especially with the Green & Black’s espresso chocolate on top. I chose to make these traditional Canadian squares with a hint a maple in the middle and I skipped adding coconut to the base.
I started off January first by cleaning out all of my kitchen cabinets and my four whopping baking paraphernalia boxes.

When I was in the US in October I stopped at a Stonewall Kitchen store. It’s the first time I’ve been to one. Think Williams-Sonoma. I also picked up a handful of their postcard recipes and a jar of their maple pumpkin butter.
