Maple Coffee Cinnamon RollsPosted by Cupcake Kelly on Feb 13, 2014 in Other Desserts, z | 2 comments
I actually made these over a month ago during the Christmas break and they are amazing. Alex and I both had a hankering for cinnamon rolls but it was already the afternoon and we didn’t want to wait several hours for them to rise.
Nothing tastes as good as a homemade cinnamon roll, so a store bought one would just not fit the bill. The great thing about this particular recipe is they’re ready in 1 hour! I’m always a little weary when I see these things on Pinterest but this recipe tasted great and was ready from start to finish in one hour.
The reason they rise so quickly is there is the equivalent of three packages of yeast. It helped them rise quickly but they didn’t over rise or keep rising once they were in the oven.
I love these rolls so much that I made them the screen saver on my phone.
The rolls are filled with a traditional cinnamon, butter and sugar mixture but the frosting has elements of maple and coffee which are fan-freaking-tastic!
The recipe came from Lemon Sugar. I made half of the dough in the recipe without the corn syrup and pecans. I did make all of the filling.
