These are the first treat from my new Cupcake Book Club. The first book is Semi Sweet: A Novel of Love and Cupcakes. The main character in the novel, Hannah, opens a cupcake shop in a small Irish town. My treats are inspired by two factors from the novel. The setting, Ireland, and the second, my favorite line in the book, “sexy buns”.

I wanted to use up some of the Bailey’s I bought for
St. Patrick’s day and I’ve always wanted to make truffles. These take a little bit of work but are really pretty and would also make nice gifts for birthdays or holidays.

I made these just in time for St. Patrick’s day! I’ve always wanted to make something with Baileys and this seemed like a good time. I was really disappointed that Ocado didn’t stock the Creme Caramel Baileys so I went with the Coffee Baileys instead. The cake tasted a lot like the Chocolate Rainbow cupcakes I made awhile ago. Last year I made these. It was about one week before I started the blog!
