This month’s book is The Bakery Girls by Florence Ditlow. The book is set in Pennsylvania and follows a family of sisters through The Great Depression and WWII at their father’s bakery. Buy the book on Amazon UK paperback and Kindle, US Paperback and US Kindle. I maybe perhaps see some retro baking in my future!
I bought the book Gobba Gobba Hey because my Nana used to make us Gobs when we went to visit her in Pittsburgh. She made them for my dad when he was a kid too. She always made chocolate gobs with vanilla filling. Steven’s book has recipes for 52 different kinds of Gobs. One for every week of the year!

These are some of my favorite cupcakes ever. To start with the cake is fantastic and fluffy. It also reminds me of the boxed cherry chip cake mixes but it’s homemade so tastes a hundred times better!

Breakfast is one of my favorite meals of the day. I love nothing more than pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs and french toast. When I saw this recipe at Texanerin Baking I knew I had to make it for our Sunday breakfast.
