Thank you to everyone who
gave up read The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake this month. I promise to pick something fun later this week for book club installment #8. Rather than dwell on a book that no one enjoyed let’s swiftly move on to the tasty creations!

I made these cupcakes to take into the office for my birthday. They look really spectacular but are actually made from a very simple recipe. Everyone at work was pretty impressed and they disappeared from the office “cake cupboard” pretty fast.

Happy Birthday to me! It’s a little strange that I make my own birthday cake every year but it’s the only way I can guarantee it’s what I want and tastes amazing. I wanted to make a lemon and blueberry layer cake since before I started the blog and three years later I finally found the time.
I let a squeal of delight when I got an email from the Martha Stewart team asking me if I would like to review a special edition of Martha Stewart Living. As a dessert blogger and wannabe crafter Martha is a huge inspiration. I even wrote one of my business papers in college on her.

First, I’m going to say this post is longer than usual but don’t worry the recipe for the cookies is at the end. I like to think that I have a of potential and I’m pretty focused in my life. Great job, nice husband and a fun hobby all keep my life pretty busy. At this point in my life I don’t think I could ask for more but could I do even greater things? I was recently invited to a class at The School of Life about How to Realize Your Potential.
