Oreo Birthday Cake PopcornPosted by Cupcake Kelly on Feb 25, 2015 in Other Desserts, z | 0 comments
I’m still alive! I’ve mastered doing a lot of tasks one handed these days but not quite baking and blogging. I seem to spend most of my days on the couch or propped up in bed feeding my little cookie monster.
I managed to whip up some quick popcorn while Oskar was having some Grandma time. I used some special edition birthday cake candy melts that I’ve been saving and of course my favorite birthday cake Oreos. The red velvet Oreos would be good for this with marshmallow or chocolate candy melts I think.
From start to finis this popcorn took about 10 minutes to make and 5 of those minutes was waiting for the kernels to pop. I kept my cookie chunks fairly large but you can crush them as small as you like.
1/3 cup popcorn kernels
8 oz birthday cake candy melts
10 crushed birthday cake Oreo cookies
- Cook the popcorn according to the instructions on the label. I like to pop mine on the stovetop with two drops of vegetable oil.
- In a microwave safe bowl melt the candy melts on 50% power at 30 second bursts. Pour the popcorn into a large bowl and mix the melted candy melts, crushed cookies and sprinkles. The candy melts should set after a few minutes.
