Easy Apple CrumblePosted by Cupcake Kelly on Nov 20, 2013 in Fruit, z | Comments Off on Easy Apple Crumble
Last week the temperatures around here dropped and we actually got our first dusting of snow! It gets cold in London but I’m more used to the rain so I think this winter it’s going to be tough for me adjusting to the Connecticut cold. I’m so glad that I have some of these canned apples on hand. They’re perfect for making a last minute dessert. I just threw a can of the apples into a baking dish and make a easy crumble topping. Pop it in the oven and viola! Fast, easy and delicious crumble dessert in no time.
I like lots of crumble so I used one can of apple pie filling and the whole amount of crumble topping. I love the crunchy contrast with the soft gooey apples. It makes the whole house smell heavenly. If you made any canned products this fall or winter consider giving them to friends and family as gifts this year!
2 cans apple pie filling
1 1/2 cups oats
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, melted
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
- Preheat the oven to 350 F and grease an 8x8 inch baking pan. Pour in the apples.
- In a large bowl stir together the melted butter and all the remaining ingredients. Spread on top of the apples and bake for 45 minutes.
