I have a habit of making untested recipes for holidays. Sometimes it works out great and often times they only turn out so so! My family aren’t very picky though. As long as it’s edible they’re happy I’ve made these cookies before but tried making them square (by using a ziploc bag). Only about three (the ones in the picture) came perfect. The rest look like trapezoids.
This year since it was our first big family gathering in practically forever I decided to make something new, this chocolate tart my favorite pumpkin pie, which I know always turns out great and I decided to make some cookies since they’re easily portable.
I made these Shortbread Cookies from last Thanksgiving but mixed up the flavors a little. I used vanilla and almond extract mixed chocolate sprinkles into the cookie dough and dipped them into melted salted caramel candy melts that I bought a few months ago at AC Moore. I think they were limited edition.
I’m lucky these cookies made it to Knoxville. Alex kept eating them when I wasn’t looking. I finally hid them!
