It was super hot again this weekend in London. Thankfully there was ample cloud coverage on Saturday which provided enough relief. It was cool enough that I was able to squeeze in some baking at around 7am. I was pretty excited because the last few weekends were too hot to bake at all. Afterwards I went around central London for some errands.

I’m almost glad to be at work today, almost. It’s certainly nice to be in the air conditioning for most of the day. It’s supposed to reach in the 90′s this week. That’s pretty unheard of in London. I think I can remember only one other summer it was that hot and I’ve lived here for more than 10 years!

People in New England love their DD (Dunkin Donuts). At least where my sister lives in New Hampshire the DD’s outnumber Starbucks about 5 to 1. It’s a good thing that I don’t’ live in America right now because I am a little addicted to the coffee at Dunkin Donuts. I love their pumpkin syrup. When I went this spring I had numerous cups of their Baskin Robbins line, namely the Butter Pecan Coffee.

I wish I could say that it’s been so darn hot here that I needed fresh lemonade. It’s been a wash out for the summer so far, the days mostly gray and more days than not I’ve worn my coat to work. Alex and I had a little picnic inside instead.

I’ve always been a breakfast person. 9 out of 10 days a week I make time to have breakfast at home before I leave for work. I do have the occasional day when I just can’t get out of bed. Usually those cold dark winter mornings.

I made this one extra cold weekend in January. I hope now that it’s a live post it will become redundant and the weather immediately improves and warm up! I’m not going to lie, making the hot chocolate with peanut butter was just an excuse to fill my cup one third full of the peanut butter whipped cream.
