I can’t believe that it’s been more than a month since I’ve posted anything! Life is a lot harder than it used to be. I have definitely become one of those annoying moms. I show everyone pictures of the little munchkin and think he’s the cutest baby around :-p There has still been baking every weekend but pretty much almost zero time to photograph and write.
Just before labor day the little guy came down with a stomach bug and a bad bout of teething. I thought we’d never sleep again! He finally recovered and then he had his first trip to the ER! There was a strange spot on his head that the doctors determined was a hematoma and put it down to him being very active and curious (he must have banged his head 10 times in that hospital crib as well).
After all of this happened I was so busy at work I spent the last few weekends not wanting to even look at a computer screen.
I ended up making this cake twice it was so good. I brought the second one over to the new neighbors house for a girl’s wine evening. The recipe is from Baking Glory. I halved the recipe and made it in my small 6 inch angel food cake pan. This cake has the best texture. It’s great and spongy. Almost like an angel food cake but not as airy since it incorporates egg yolks.
