I’d like to thank everyone that read Rosie Hopkins’ Sweet Shop of Dreams for this months Cupcake Book Club. We’re in the summer month’s now and it’s a great book to take with you to the beach. Thanks to all my bakers and see you for a new exciting book announced at the end of the week!
Fiona from Sweet Thing You Make My Heart Sing enjoyed how the novel was set in two different time periods, the only downside was the constant pick & mix craving it gave her! Fiona though the book seemed to mention peanut brittle and soft caramels a lot, and she decided to combine the two in her cupcake. Fiona made made a peanut butter cupcake with a salted caramel center and topped it with salted caramel buttercream and homemade peanut brittle.
Lisa from United Cakedom made Clotted Cream Fudge mentioned in chapter 2 of the book. She enjoyed the little blurbs about the sweets before each chapter. Lisa shows us how to make fudge the right way and the wrong way!
I decided to make the Coconut Ice mentioned in the book. I made my raspberry flavored to make it a little more interesting. I made one other treat but as of today it’s still “brewing”!
I have one late submission. I made classic American Rock Candy. It’s late as it takes about 10 days for the crystals to form.
