Thanks to everyone who read along to Like Water for Chocolate. This post is a little late but now that summer is over the book club will be back on schedule. I enjoyed this Mexican novel and hope everyone else did as well.
Fiona and I both made the Three King’s Bread mentioned in the novel. My friend Sophia tried to make quail in rose sauce but she managed to start a fire somehow. Better luck with the next challenge Sophia!
Here is Fiona’s bread. Her’s definitely looks better than mine. Fiona said this was not a novel she would have chose on her own but she enjoyed it.
I stuffed my bread with dried fruit and glace cherries. I’m absolutely getting more confident working with yeast. Tomorrow I’ll be posting the next book club selection.

Your bread looks great Kelly! I haven’t tried much with yeast either so I definitely need to build up my confidence with it. Hope to join in this month so I can’t wait to see your selection! :)
