Tropical Tea Blend
Posted by Cupcake Kelly on Oct 24, 2012 in Beverages | 1 commentI made this tea blend when it was non stop raining earlier in the summer. It is pretty comforting when I’m sat inside at work on a beautiful day and stuck inside on the weekend on a miserable day.
I’ve kept the recipe for this tea blend relatively simple. The dried fruit provides most of the flavor once the tea is infused in hot water. I got the idea from a past visit to Teavana. When you walk in they invite you to sniff the tea. I went in once and they showed me the dried fruit in the tea.
You could also add toasted coconut. I used a box of darjeeling tea as I had one laying around at home. I would suggest a black tea (or even a green tea) that’s not super strong. You wouldn’t want to over power the fruit
Ingredients
Ingredients
1 box black tea (not super strong)
100g dried tropical fruit blend
1 tsp pineapple extract
Instructions
- In a medium sized bowl mix all of the ingredients together. Pour into a tea canister and shake a few times. Store in a cool dry place for 24 hours before using.

I haven’t really thought about making my own tea blend before! I might give it a go! This sounds lovely.
