Coconut Latte

I love flavored lattes. If you go into Cafe Nero in in the UK you’ll see they have a pretty impressive array of different flavored syrups. Actually asking for one in your coffee is a different story. The last time I asked for one about two years ago they made a face and made me feel guilty for asking!

Coconut Latte

Geez! I’ll make my own and save them the trouble. If you like syrups try my cupcake latte, chocolate chip cookie syrup, eggnog latte  or vanilla spice latte.

Coconut Syrup
adapted from Annie’s Eats

1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup coconut cream
2 tsp coconut extract

Coconut Latte
1-2 espresso shots
1 cup milk
Coconut syrup, to taste

1. In a small saucepan add the water, sugar and coconut cream. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Add 2 teaspoons of coconut extract and pour into a sterilized jar.

2. Pour espresso shot and coconut syrup into a mug. Heat milk and froth (I used an aero latte). Pour on top of the espresso.
